The Public Safety Professional Program is designed for those who serve and protect. 

Heritage would like to honor Public Safety Professionals with a program to fit their financial needs. In addition to the perks listed below and the benefits of a Rewards Cash or Rewards Cash Back Checking Account, a unique debit card design is available for this program.

Program Requirements

To participate in the Heritage Federal Credit Union Public Safety Professional Program, you must meet the following requirements: Must be currently employed as a Public Safety Professional (EMS, Fire, Police, Dispatch) and submit proof of licensure, have a Heritage Rewards Cash or Rewards Cash Back Checking, and enroll in e-statements within 30 days from program enrollment. Proof of employment must be provided at program enrollment.

Public Safety Professional Program Disclosure 

Program Requirements: To participate in the Heritage Federal Credit Union Public Safety Professional Program, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Be employed as a Public Safety Professional (EMS, Fire, Police, Dispatch) and submit proof of licensure upon enrollment in the Public Safety Professional Program.

 2.Have Rewards Cash or Rewards Cash Back Checking.

3. Be enrolled in eStatements within 30 calendar days from program enrollment.

4. Proof of employment must be provided at program enrollment.

Linked Accounts: You must have a linked Rewards Cash or Rewards Cash Back Checking Account in order to enroll in the Public Safety Professional Program. The linked Rewards Cash or Rewards Cash Back Checking Account must remain open throughout the period that you are enrolled in the Public Safety Professional Program. If a linked Rewards Cash or Rewards Cash Back Checking is closed or converted to a different checking account, you will be unenrolled from the Public Safety Professional Program and no further benefits or bonuses will be provided.

Program Details: As a member enrolled in the Heritage Federal Credit Union Public Safety Professional Program, you are eligible for the following benefits and incentives:

1. Debit Card: A unique debit card only offered to members of the Public Safety Professional Program.

2. Home Appraisal: Receive a discount of $200 off the cost of an appraisal used for a loan application with Heritage where a mortgage is used for collateral. Available once per program duration.

3. Home Equity Loans: No closing costs for a Home Equity Loan with Heritage.

4. Dedicated Relationship Banker: One point of contact for all of your Heritage needs.

5. Donation: Heritage Federal Credit Union will donate to Supporting Heroes for your participation in this program.

Bonus Perks: The following bonus perks are available to members enrolled in the Public Safety Professional program. Each perk will result in a bonus deposit into your Rewards Cash or Rewards Cash Back Checking Account upon meeting the specified requirements:

1. Direct Deposit Setup: Receive a $10.00 bonus deposit for setting up a direct deposit to your Heritage account that is linked to the Public Safety Professional Program. Bonus available once per program duration. Deposits made by teller/ATM/mobile deposits, wire transfers, transfers between Heritage accounts, external transfers from other accounts at other financial institutions, or Peer to Peer (i.e. Zelle, Venmo) transfers do not qualify.

2.  Average Daily Balance: You must open a Rewards Savings Account to earn this bonus. The average daily balance of your Rewards Savings Account will be calculated every 6 months. If your average daily balance increases by at least $1,000 each 6-month review period, you will qualify for a larger bonus payout. The savings goals will be paid out twice a year in January and July. If you do not qualify for a bonus payout in January or July, you will still be eligible for another bonus payout in the following review period. Bonus deposits will be paid in the following order regardless of your initial average daily balance: $10.00, $20.00, $30.00, $40.00, $50.00. The bonus is available once per savings tier and the max average daily balance payout will be $50.00. Once you have reached this bonus payout, no further savings balance bonus payments will be credited to your account. 2. Earn a $10.00 deposit if the average daily balance reaches $1,000.

  • Earn a $20.00 deposit if the average daily balance reaches $2,000.

  • Earn a $30.00 deposit if the average daily balance reaches $3,000.

  • Earn a $40.00 deposit if the average daily balance reaches $4,000.

  • Earn a $50.00 deposit if the average daily balance reaches $5,000.

3. Digital Wallet Setup: Receive a $10.00 bonus deposit for setting up a digital wallet with your Heritage Debit Card that is linked to the Public Safety Professional Program. Bonus available once per program duration.

4. Spare Change Enrollment: Receive a $10.00 bonus deposit for enrolling in the Spare Change Program. Bonus available once per program duration. The Spare Change Program will round-up the amount of any debit card point of sale purchases associated with the enrolled checking account to the next whole dollar and transfers the difference from your checking account to your designated share savings account.

5. Anniversary Deposit: Each year, an anniversary bonus deposit of $10.00 will be made into your account in the month following your program enrollment anniversary date.

Please note that all perks and rewards are subject to the terms and conditions of the Heritage Federal Credit Union Public Safety Professional Program. For any further details or inquiries regarding the program, please consult your account documents or contact your Heritage Federal Credit Union Relationship Banker. Heritage reserves the right to modify or end the Public Safety Professional Program at any time. Heritage may report the value of any bonus or reward received to the IRS as required by law. Any applicable taxes are the responsibility of the recipient. Membership restrictions may apply. Minimum $50 to open a Rewards Cash, Rewards Cash Back Checking, or Rewards Savings Account. Members can only be enrolled in one Heritage Program at a time.

*APY=Annual Percentage Yield. APY is accurate as of 09/30/2022. The APY range calculation is based on an assumed account balance cap of $25,000 plus $100,000. The APY decreases as your balance increases above $25,000. Enrollments must be in place and all the following transactions and activities must post and settle to the member’s Reward’s Checking account during each Monthly Qualification Cycle to receive the 3.40% APY: 12 (pin-based/signature-based) debit card purchases, enrolled in and logged into digital banking, at least 1 direct deposit into the account, enrolled to receive e-statements. 0.05% APY on all balances, even if qualifications are not met. Ability to earn $849 yearly based on maintaining a monthly balance of $25,000 in the Rewards Checking account and meeting all requirements to earn $70.83 each month x 12 = $849.96. Rates and rewards are variable and may change at any time without notice after the account is opened. $50.00 minimum balance to open. Fees or other conditions could reduce earnings on the account.
