Become a Board Member

During the Fall each year, we accept nominations from interested members of Heritage to run for our Board of Directors. Although this year's deadline to express interest has now passed, we will hold another opportunity in the Fall for the following year.

All credit union officials will be required to disclose all potential conflicts of interest, including those in which they are inadvertently placed due to a business or personal relationship with any member, business supplier, business associate, employee, or competitor of the credit union, or any other entity with which the credit union transacts business. Examples of a conflict, but not exhaustive, would be:

  • Employed by, or serving on a Board for an organization that is a competitor of Heritage Federal Credit Union (Heritage), or provides services to Heritage or a competitor of Heritage.
  • Spouse/partner is Employed by, or serving on a Board for an organization that is a competitor of Heritage, or provides services to Heritage or a competitor of Heritage.
  • Closely related to an employee of Heritage.
  • Have been employed by Heritage in the past 2 years.
  • Employer or you receives services provided by Heritage outside of checking / savings accounts.

Election Process

Each year, we invite members to express their interest in running for our Board of Directors. To begin the process, you must complete an interest form, which is available on our website for a specified period after the solicitation is sent out. Upon submitting your interest form, you will receive a formal application with a deadline for submission.

Once the application deadline has passed, the Nominating Committee will review all applications. The Committee will then nominate at least one member for each vacancy. Eligible applicants who are not nominated will be notified of their right to seek election via a petition process. Each person seeking nomination by petition shall request a Heritage petition packet that contains all the information and signature pages necessary to satisfy the requirements of Heritage Bylaws.
