At Heritage, safeguarding your financial well-being is our commitment. Your hard-earned money and personal information deserve the utmost protection. In today's digital landscape, text fraud and scams have emerged as a prevalent threat, with cybercriminals employing various deceptive techniques. This page is dedicated to informing you about text fraud and scams, empowering you to shield yourself and your finances.

Identifying Text Fraud and Scams: Text fraud and scams exhibit diverse forms, but they often share common traits. Be on the lookout for these red flags:
  1. Links or Requests for Digital Banking Information: Rest assured, Heritage will never send you a text message requesting your digital banking information. If you receive such a request, it is fraudulent.

  2. Avoid Clicking Suspicious Links: Scammers frequently send texts containing links purportedly linked to your bank account or other sensitive accounts. These links may falsely claim to enable you to change your password or confirm recent activity. Legitimate financial institutions do not operate this way. NEVER click a link like this.

  3. Urgent Action Claims: Fraudulent texts often simulate urgency, pressuring you to act immediately.

  4. Doubtful Sender Information: Scrutinize the sender's phone number and message content. Scammers frequently employ generic phone numbers and vague messages to deceive recipients.

  5. Beware of Logos: Some fraudulent texts may incorporate a screenshot of our Heritage logo, aiming to appear more credible. Remember, scammers can effortlessly mimic logos and branding to mislead you. It typically looks similar to the picture on the right, including a screenshot of our logo. If a text truly comes from Heritage, it will not include a picture of our logo.

Here is an example of a fraudulent text.
